An elevated tram, also known as an Automated People Mover (APM) connects Crystals with the Monte Carlo to the south and the Bellagio to the north. It uses the Cable Liner technology from DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car (based in Wolfurt, Austria), and has two independent rope-hauled (cable-propelled) parallel tracks and a four-car passenger unit operating on each track. It is 100% electric. The cable on each train is driven by two 460 kW AC motors. For on-board power supply, used for lighting, etc., the trains collect power from the 480 volt power rails running along side the tracks. Two 95-foot long trains will run simultaneously in opposite directions, with four cars per train, 33 passengers per car and 132 passengers per train. The tram travels at 13.5 miles per hour; the route takes 6.25 minutes roundtrip. (Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page)
