Description:
Kate Livoda reads a quote from Mother Jones. Kate was a phone operator at the time of the 1913/14 strike in Trinidad, when Sheriff Belcher was killed. Phone personnel not allowed to leave the workplace, but had to sleep there overnight. Belcher killed with the gun of Kate's boyfriend. She tries to recall the name of the boy [Titsworth?] who first set fire to the tents at Ludlow. Kate recalls gathering ammunition and arms for the strikers; wearing red bandanas in support of the strike; and trying to locate Tikas's grave. Mike Livoda reads the names and provides details of those killed during the 1913/1914 strike. Mike recalls Barron Beshoar. They view photos of the Petrucci family, some of whom were killed at Ludlow. Speaking of the miners and their families, Kate remarks, "They just gave of themselves, they just gave of themselves."
