In this video Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi provides new interpretations of Jewish law (Halacha) for students of Jewish Renewal which are dubbed Psycho-Halacha. The video is in three parts. The first part consists of Zalman discussing: gerut (laws of conversion), ishut (laws of women), defining who is Jewish, gets (Jewish divorce contracts), Jewish law on homosexuality, and haliza (Ceremony to Reject Marriage to Dead Husband’s Brother for Childless Women). In the second part Zalman focuses on Ḥoshen Mishpaṭ (laws compiled in Rabbi Jacob ben Asher's Arba'ah Turim about finance, torts, legal procedure, loans, and interest). Additionally, he talks about Beit Dins (Jewish abritration panels), the notion of a Jewish covenant, and general thoughts on Halacha. The final part of the video is Zalman speaking to the students watching and thanking individuals.
