Latin Bible (1 Maccabees 1:1-2: 14). 146 x 105 mm. Parchment. Single leaf. Double column; each column 102 x 30 mm.; 50 lines to a column; ruled and bounded in plummet. Historiated E (9-line) on recto, portraying the beheading of the idolatrous Jew.
Abstract: 
Miniature in the style of the Dominican Painter: beheading of the idolatrous Jew. 9-line historiated initial at the opening of I Maccabees on a leaf with 50 lines in two columns. Sister leaf to MS 284, 285, 319, 360 and Fine Arts Department Colorado Collection's "Tree of Jesse" leaf. Note pencil sketch.
