Moderated by Charles Nilon. Joseph Fink states that "the bomb" -- rather than a nuclear weapon -- could be a number of social problems including lack of education, incompetence, or overpopulation. For the first time humanity has changed course from survival to self-destruction. John Migdley discusses a permanent non-proliferation treaty that would prevent all countries from developing nuclear weapons and forbid the five countries that do have nuclear weapons from creating any more. He believes this agreement could only work if the current "nuclear powers" scale down their forces. Charles Nilon refutes some of Migdley's points.
