a. French---low bonnet with beret-like crown, upturned brim. A single plume follows the edge of the brim. Associated with Francis I. About 1515-50. b. French---bonnet with soft crown and turned down brim. Ostrich tip. About 1518-62. c. French---closely cropped hair of the period.
