a. French---fan shaped headdress of a simple horned hennin type with a long tail encasing the hair. About 1460-80. b. French---a lady of rank with unusual hat-like headdress, oriental in origin. About 1480. c. French---a lady of rank with a close cap of metallic cloth and scalloped or foliated hood draped about the head. About 1450-80.
