a. German---a rich merchant with cap of ermine and elongated crown falling to the shoulders. About 1355. b. German---a soldier in court garb. Flowing hair bound with cord of striped fabric. 1300. c. German---a wealthy gentleman. Headdress of the turban type, bound and draped with loose end falling over the shoulder. About 1375.
