He talks about his experience growing up in Montreal and gained a spiritual interest before he met Rabbi Schachter. He also spent time studying in Jerusalem in 1967 to learn more about the Jewish roots of Christian faith; 02:00 Bill talks about his studies at the University of Manitoba in the 1970s. He says he studied religious studies and explored the idea of “what keeps hope alive in the Jewish community in popular literature?” He continues to talk about how Rabbi Schachter told Bill he had to learn Yiddish to continue with his research; 05:50 Bill continues to talk about the influence Rabbi Schachter had on him and talks about the Jewish Renewal movement; 07:00 Justin asks Bill a few follow-up questions. He firsts asks Bill if he recalls what he knew about Rabbi Schachter before he met him the first time. Bill says he knew nothing about Schachter; 08:00 Justin asks if Bill remembers his appearance; 08:25 Justin asks what church Bill was a minister of. Bill talks about the little Baptist church he ministered; 09:55 Justin asks Bill if he wants to add anything more about his experience meeting Rabbi Schachter.
