00:00:00 Up the Great Pyramid. 00:01:52 The Top. 00:05:03 In the ancient days when Greece was young and Rome unborn - the Sphinx had been crouching beside the Pyramids for more than thirty centuries --- 00:05:20 Behold a mysterious shadow on the sands of Time - like a tremendous interrogation-point --- 00:05:58 Symbol of ancient mysteries unsolved! - No man knows who thou art, - nor when, nor why created --- 00:06:09 Thy claws deep-buried in the sands of Time - thy head emerging from the sea of centuries --- 00:06:25 The wise and the witless of each epoch have come to gaze upon thee. 00:06:57 From the beginning thy back has been turned to the West and all its changeful ways -- 00:07:28 Beside thee, deeply overwhelmed, a super-ancient temple sleeps beneath the surface of the sandy sea --- 00:09:34 A few of us went to Memphis, at one time, the greatest city in Egypt. 00:09:45 Some of the great things we saw here were: 00:09:54 The colossal statues of Ramses II, a sphinx weighing 80 tons, and the great Step Pyramid dating back to 4240 B.C. 00:10:58 What we saw on our return to Cairo. 00:12:23 End of recording.
