Note:
00:00 Three people sit around a table with a television host. They prepare for a TV special titled “Voices from the Village presents: In Search of the Divine, looking for common ground”; 00:21 Scene cuts to a close up of the TV host who introduces the topic and guest speakers. Each speaker represents a different religion or faith, that being Katherina Harlow speaking on behalf of the Islamic faith, Dan Kimball speaking on behalf of the Christian faith, and Rabbi Leah Novick speaking on behalf of the Jewish faith; 01:40 The host asks each guest speaker to share a little bit about how they came to their religion and what their experience is; 04:00 The host begins with the first panel question that being, “what was the religious experience of the central figure in each one of your religions?”; 08:44 The host asks the group the second question that being, “what about the nature of the internal experience of the central prophet in each religion?”; 17:00 The TV host asks the next question that being, “what is the nature, according to scripture, of the divine presence in each of these religions?”; 22:50 The TV host asks, “it is beyond reason to experience a divine presence so what is the recommendation from each religion of having a religious experience?”; 32:46 The TV host reminds the viewers that the show allows them to call-in and ask questions. He asks production to put the telephone number up on the screen for the viewers. The TV host then asks another question that being, “is there any possibility that prayer in each of the religions is actually directed to the same divinity?”; 40:00 The TV host follows up and asks, “so if one then held that you were approaching the same divine presence, regardless of the particular religion, would it follow that a person could believe in more than one religion?”; 44:13 The first caller attempts to connect while Leah talks about the previous question; 48:03 The TV host reads a call-in question that being, “what to do to reach God and spend eternity in heaven?” As well as asks the panel to also make a closing statement from the question, “why is there so much religious strife in the world?” 51: 40 The TV host thanks the panel and the credits run across the screen.
