Transcribed from item: Typed note adhered to photograph: 1942-1-1a, 1942-1-1b, 1942-1-1c, 1942-1-1d, 1942-1-1e: Aerial trimetrogon series from west to east along the Northwall Firn. A slight change in flight direction occurs between 1b and 1c. New Zealand Pass, still ice covered is on 1c. The position of Dozy's 1936 Meren Glacier cairn is marked on 1c. The Meren and Carstensz Glaciers are on 1e.
Notes in folder: Carstensz Range, Indonesia, 1942: Air photographs from a United States Air Force trimetrogon series of the Central Cordillera of New Guinea taken during World War II. The photographs were taken between 1942 and 1945; probably during the latter part of 1942. Unfortunately prints supplied here have been cropped. Layout of the series is as shown: [see diagram in source document Carstensz Range, Indonesia]. 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 are vertical photographs. 1-1 is a left oblique and 1-5 a right oblique of the trimetrogon set.
