Transcribed from item: Taku Glacier. 9/16/32, By Winter and Pond. Photo from "2 Tree Camera Station". East side of glacier front. Camera station near two spruce trees 15' high growing on rock point 30' above tidewater. These are the first trees at low elevation in front of east side of glacier and can easily be found in succeeding years unless overwhelmed by an advance of the ice. The station is located near the base and at the "downstream" side of the large patches of bare rock on the mountain side which show prominently in the 4" x 5" photo taken from a launch this same date and in the 8" x 10" oblique aerial photos taken in 1926 and 1925 by the Navy Department. Cataloger's note: Lloyd Valentine Winter (1866-1945) and Edwin Percy Pond (1872-1943), of the photography company, Winter & Pond, were prominent Alaskan photographers.
