Transcribed from item: Documentation note: Meren Glacier (3a) and Carstensz Glacier (3b) from the north face of the Carstensz Pyramid (at approximately 18000 E, 96000 N). Compare wiht 1936-4-1. Dozy's westernmost 1936 cairn in the Yellow Valley is marked on 3a, and Harrer's 1963 Yellow Valley cairn is marked on 3b. Note on envelope: 1973: Taken in January and February 1973 by the Second Australian Universities Carstensz Glaciers Expedition. Only slight changes occurred to the ice front between 1972 and 1973 (Meren Glacier retreated 15m and Carstensz Glacier retreated 10m) and only a few selected photos are included. [Preceding text also in Documentation folder.] Carstensz, Wollaston, VandeWater, Meren Glaciers.
