Transcribed from item: 1972-3-3A, 1972-3-3B: View from the Northwall Firn across the Meren to cliffs on the Middenkam separating the Carstensz Glacier (top of cliffs) from the Meren Glacier. East Carstensz top is the left hand peak of 3a. The ice and snow connection between the Carstensz and Meren Glaciers has disappeared since 1936. Compare with 1936-3-3. 1972. All photographs taken between late December 1971 and early March 1972 by the First Australian Universities Carstensz Glaciers Expedition. Note on envelope: 1972:2:1a-k, :2:2a-e, :3:1, :3:2a-c, :2:3a-c, :2:4a-c, :3:3a-b, :4:1, :5:5a-c, :6:1, :6:2. Contained in folder: Carstensz, Middenkam, Idenburg, Maren, New Zealand Pass, Northwall, Ngga Pulu & Wollaston Glacier. Irian Jaya, New Guinea, Indonesia - 1972.
